Hi everyone!
Ryan and I are so excited to share our lives with you through this blog. We are hoping to update it frequently with posts and pictures. We will probably be asking for advice, too =) Our baby boy is due September 23!
For those of you who don't know, we currently live in an apartment in Naperville, IL. We moved here last September because Ryan wanted to go to Physician Assistant school in Downers Grove, which is right next door. Now he is pursuing fire-fighting career and we're not quite sure where God is taking us. However, we have met some truly amazing friends in the area and would like to stick around for a few years. We sometimes long for the country life again, but we'd like to spend a short season of our lives in the city before moving back.
Last year I was a substitute teacher and a track coach. I did not pursue any full-time teaching jobs for this school year because we thought it would be way to much to be a first-time mom and a first-year teacher. I interviewed for some part-time Kindergarten positions, but they were filled internally by other people in the district who's positions were cut. As for this coming school year, I am considering being a full-time sub, which means I would be at the same school everyday, but not have the joys of grading papers, attending parent-teacher conferences, etc. I'm not sure whether this is the best option yet. The other option is subbing about 3 days/week.
We have a lot of uncertainties in our life right now - Ryan's future career, where and how much I will work, and where we should move - but we're really excited to see where God will take us and are trusting him fully to provide for us =)
That's all for now! I'm not sure how much posting will really be necessary pre-baby, but once he's here there should be a lot more to write about!
