The First Days Of Kindergarten

Well, the time has come for Parker to start Kindergarten. Pretty soon he'll be in middle school, driving, graduating high school and off to college. But, let's not get ahead of ourselves ;)

After much research & prayer, we have decided to go with the "hybrid approach" for Parker this year. We will be classically homeschooling in the morning and then he will go to Byron to rotate through Art, Music & PE for 1 hour everyday.

Byron started on August 17. He was excited and ready to go! I was excited for him, too, and quite honestly, when we woke up to the bus honking at our neighbors at 7:15am, I knew our eventual 8:30 start-time at home would workout just great. =)

We ate lunch and got ready to go.

This little sweetie wanted her picture taken, too =)

We took a few more pics before we walked in.

One of the reasons we started looking into the option of Parker going to Byron for specials is because my sister is his Music teacher! She was his first class on the first day, so that was pretty easy....

until we walked out the door and Adley LOST it!! She was sooo sad that Parker was going to school without her and she said, "I'm going to miss he too much." Bless her heart.

We went home, played 2 rounds of Landycand, and then it was time to pick him up again already. He had a great time.

USANA Convention

Late August means time to head out to Salt Lake City for the USANA Convention!
This year, Amber came with us <3 p="">

On Wednesday we toured the headquarters and manufacturing facility.

Sweet gym!

Thursday morning we met up with the rest of our team and USANA announced their latest breakthrough!! It's so exciting and really just reminded me how much I love partnering with them.

I was starving after that morning session and so ready for my shake. They came out with 3 new flavors. I tried the strawberry and man is it GOOD!

We packed some food boxes for our non-profit, Children's Hunger Fund.

I was impressed at the quality of food we were packing in and then...Bam! Next in line was the plant protein and the choco chip bars! That was so awesome.

Thursday night is red carpet night!

Friday morning we woke up and did Zumba with probably 50 other women. That was fun! Then Kate, Dan & Stef were all recognized as New Silver Directors! Great job, guys!

That night we went to the BEST restaurant called Zest. We brainstormed about our new program and met with some of our USANA Headquarters mentors. It was such a great time.

We really bonded these past few days. It's so fun working with these amazing women!

Gotta love the athletes!!

If it weren't for this guy, I'd never be doing this. He's the one who got us on this path and it as benefitted both of us so much. I'm thankful I get to learn alongside him! <3 p="">

We love convention, but we're always ready to come back to our kiddos. I always say, it's not worth leaving the kids if I'm not going to apply what I learned while I was away. So, here we go!

What's Growing In The Garden?

This garden is AWESOME! Everything we planted is actually growing! I don't know why I'm so surprised, but there is a whole lot of produce coming outta here. We've been able to share a lot, freeze a lot, and eat a lot!

Ryan's been collecting the seeds and fermenting them so we can have seeds for next year's garden, too. He's the real mastermind and caretaker behind the garden, btw. He wakes up before all of us and spends hours out there each week tying up tomatoes, pruning, etc. He's a pro gardener for sure.

I mean, look at all that!! God's creation is amazing!

It's October now and we are still harvesting tomatoes, brussels, kale & watermelon. Wow!
