We let the kids open presents on Dec. 21 because Ryan worked the 22nd and thought he might get a hireback the 23rd. We really just couldn't wait to open presents, haha.
Ryan ended up not working the 23rd, so we headed out to the Valleys (Stillman and German)
We always spend Christmas Eve with my family. We had a super fun dance party this year, played some ping pong, went to church and then came back for cookies, tea and presents.
Ryan had to work Christmas morning, so he headed to Arlington Heights and the kids and I went to Stillman with his family. Ryan was sweet to make cinnamon rolls even though he wasn't going to get to eat them with us. They are SO good!
Later in the afternoon, the kids and I headed to Station 4 to see Daddy and enjoy Christmas dinner. It was the first time he worked on Christmas. It was definitely different, but it was nice to spend time with him at the firehouse. The kids were sad to leave.
Time to go home, sort through toys and reflect on a blessed year.
