One Big January Post

January 2nd, Nat and I did some cross-country skiing together. That was super fun. 

The kids went sledding behind the Ranger and on the hill.

The first week of January, Ryan & Parker decided it was time for operation put-together-every-lego-set-we-own. They love doing Lego's together =) I, on the other hand, try to put one piece on and end up breaking off 6 additional pieces....

On January 4, Adley pulled our steeping tea off the table and onto her hand =( Poor, poor baby. I have no idea how it missed her face, but I sure am thankful it did! She kept her hand in a bucket of water for probably 4 hours and then we got some spray for it to help her sleep. She slept great, never blistered, and was back to normal the next day. Thank you, God for protecting her!!

On January 13th, Parker had a cardiology appointment. Ryan hooked him up to the EKG monitor on the ambulance a few months back and noticed he was in a junctional rhythm. He hooked him up two other times and it showed the same thing, so we decided to get it checked out. 

First they did an EKG and gave me a little heart structure/function education. (Ryan already knew everything which is wonderful. That way if I didn't understand it, I could rest assured that he's got it down). The doctor was super friendly and said after she reviewed the EKG that he does go back and forth from a junctional to a sinus (normal) rhythm, but that isn't really a problem.

Then he had a heart ultrasound.  He did so great during all of this! Laid still, cooperated 100%, great attitude. We couldn't have been more proud. 

Adley was a good support throughout the 4 hour appointment.

They hooked him up to a 24 hour monitor that he was also a total champ about, and drew his blood to check for thyroid function. (He watched them draw his blood...does this kid have a medicine career in his future?! Who does that?) 

We got the results from his 24 hour test about a week later, and he also had a stress test. He was in the sinus rhythm a majority of the time and they have zero concern. Praise GOD!!

Adley accidently colored on her face and then decided she didn't need a nap - only to fall asleep sitting up later in the day. Silly girl.

We love puzzles!

This winter has been hit or miss, but we finally got a chance to test out Parker's new hockey stick.

Ryan skated circles around all of us and then Parker looked at me and his face said it all..."WOW! That's my dad! I wanna learn how to do that!" For the next few hours, Ryan taught him all sorts of things and I watched from the warmth of the car with Adley. It was like a scene straight out of Mighty Ducks. Priceless.

Parker set up a desk in his room and started having meetings there.

A little educational play. This is the first time Adleys' tried this.  She did awesome and she loved it!

Just reading to her babies - all of which are named "Cherry."

Adley's motto is usually "messy hair, don't care." But, sometimes we get to make it look really nice. It doesn't stay long though!

One afternoon while Parker was harvesting on my back and Adley was laying halfway on top of my head and playing with my hair, I asked Ryan to take a picture of my life.  

Love it!
